Damage Assessment Definitions

UNDAMAGED: Buildings that have not been damaged by the earthquake.

LIGHTLY DAMAGED: Buildings with fine cracks in the paint, plaster and walls of the building. Those who live in less damaged buildings can enter their homes.

MEDIUM DAMAGED: Buildings with cracks in the walls of the building and fine cracks in the load-bearing elements. It is recommended not to use the structure until the structure is repaired or strengthened, but evacuation of the items can be carried out.

HEAVY DAMAGED: Buildings in which the structural elements of the building are mostly permanently displaced and partially or completely destroyed.

IMMEDIATELY DESTROYED: Buildings with large and widespread shear breaks / separations in the bearing elements of the building.”
